Ahead of his hosting debut this weekend, the official Twitter account for the show teased a photo of the 31-year-old actor during a recent table read–and fans cannot get enough of it.
The photo showcased the Elvis actor preparing his lines for the episode that is set to air later this week–Dec. 17, to be specific. He donned a black Carhartt jacket with a hoodie underneath while chuckling at a piece of paper that presumably contained part of the script for the upcoming episode.
"Read-thru with Austin Butler!" the tweet read.
Fans could not keep it together after the photo was posted, and they made their excitement known with tweet after tweet gushing over the star and hyping up Saturday's release.
"I can’t wait for this epicness #austinbutler @austinbutler," one fan wrote.
"Ok now damn it," another fan wrote with crying emojis, completely swooning over the photo.
"Still can’t believe that the hot background actor from Ned’s declassified is hosting SNL this week," someone else quipped.
"The way this is the same man that’s gonna be hosting snl next week," another fan wrote alongside a throwback clip of Butler as he appeared on an episode of the hit Disney Channel show, Hannah Montana.
Another fan shamelessly thirsted over Butler, writing, "daddy hosting snl," alongside one of the promotional clips for the upcoming episode featuring the actor.
"He can be my santa anytime," another fan jokingly tweeted.
