In the past few months, the online content creation community was on the edge as renowned slots streamer Trainwreckstv announced a streaming platform with lucrative benefits for creators. But sometimes, things that seem too good to be true actually are. As a popular scam buster, ‘Coffezilla’ and ex-Twitch Streamer, Ludwig unveiled some “nefarious methods” in use by the platform.

Both YouTube and Twitch generate a big chunk of their revenue from advertisers. Which put some restrictions on the content that can be published on these platforms. That is why posting s*xually explicit, derogative, or gambling content is strictly prohibited. Streamer Trainwreckstv had some problems with the last condition.

Thus, Trainwreck proceeds to build his own platform to have an online space where creators can stream “ethical gambling”. In the inception stage of the project, the streamer has promised an unbelievable 95%-5% split between the creator and the platform, which is deemed as “impossible” by many critics.
Trainwreckstv has finally launched his promised platform, Kick.com. Following the release, the former slots streamer uploaded a tweet longer from his official Twitter account. But that document had some concerning information that made critics like Coffeezilla take a deep look behind scenes.

And by his research, Zilla revealed many groundbreaking information about the site. The first and most surprising one was the information regarding the owner of the platform. Zilla revealed that “Trainwreck’s new platform is owned by — wait for it…. STAKE. That’s why Kick is paying insane creator splits, they’re owned by an offshore casino lmao.”
Trainwreck’s new platform is owned by— wait for it…. STAKE.
That’s why Kick is paying insane creator splits, they’re owned by an offshore casino lmao. And it’s the reason train is moving, to continue the Stake cash cow.
I wonder why Train didn’t tell people that 🤔 https://t.co/3AJT9sJhOt

He further added, “On reddit “CalebStake” created the kickstreaming subreddit, they admit it in job apps and the owner of stake is doing giveaways there now.” The YouTube fraud buster added that the higher-ups of offshore casino and gambling company Stakes are promoting the platform on various social media.

The owners even posted job applications on LinkedIn.
Another job app from LinkedIn. Just embarrassing that they’re trying to hide it. pic.twitter.com/XzqL7ZKJPA

Fans also pointed out that the UI of the website looks awfully alike Twitch. They speculated that the developers of Kick, have basically copy-pasted the source code of Twitch onto theirs.
It's literally a Twitch knockoff using leaked source code. 😂 pic.twitter.com/gNL2zcz5hl

Aside from this being owned by Stake, it’s hilarious that they didn’t even try to make a different unique new website. It’s a near clone of Twitch but green branding instead of purple. pic.twitter.com/jpNbrvgx8R

However, this theory was proved wrong by the Ex Twitch streamer turned YouTuber Ludwig. In his latest video on the “Mogul Mail” channel, he revealed that the source code is actually unique. But many assets and UI designs are “inspired” by Twitch. Ludwig touched upon the platform’s revenue methods, as he pointed out that just like Twitch and Amazon, Kick is also using advertisers as one of their main profit sources.
So offering huge margins of 95%-5%, with the same business model as the competitors, Ludwig insinuated that there may be some “Nefarious Methods That Are Profitable” in play. Then proceeds to emphasize the whole owner of the platform drama using Coffeezilla as a source, he implied that gambling could potentially be a prominent revenue generator for the platform.
In his video, Ludwig also talked about how Trainwreck at first presented himself as the owner of the platform, but after the launch, he made it clear that he will be joining the platform as a streamer than a stakeholder. According to Ludwig, this is a far better strategy for him, as he is mainly striving to get his “Sponsored Gambling” streams back.
Many fans gave their impressions of how bad of an influence this platform can have on the audience. They criticized Train for his addiction and the shady practices of Kick.com.
Man’s so addicted to gambling he helped start a whole new site so he can get back to gambling for profit lmao could never gamble with his own money
— Brink (@BrinkVFX) December 6, 2022
So basically, Stake is announcing to streamers to join their platform so they can earn money by GAMBA streams. Young kids/adults will watch the streams and become addicted. But then again there is not much alternative to twitch. It is where the majority of streaming audience is.

The sentiment is appealing, but it's ultimately just a backdoor way to push gambling. What a shame.
